SMS Messaging Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Who sends these messages

MyKidRoute LLC sends SMS messages to parents, guardians, and authorized pickup persons who have opted in to receive notifications about school pickup, safety alerts, and activity updates. Authorized pickup persons may also receive a single invitation message when a parent adds them to a child's profile (see “Pickup invitation messages” below).

SMS number: (978) 684-0361

Types of messages

The following message types are sent from (978) 684-0361. Messages marked “opt-out applies” are suppressed when you reply STOP. Messages marked “security — not suppressible” are delivered regardless of opt-out status.

  • School pickup verification alerts (opt-out applies)
  • Emergency safety alerts from your child's school (opt-out applies — if you have replied STOP, your school's emergency alerts will be delivered via in-app notification and email instead)
  • Activity session reminders (opt-out applies)
  • Pickup game day reminders (opt-out applies)
  • Pickup invitation messages to authorized pickup persons (opt-out applies — see below)
  • Service updates and notifications (opt-out applies)
  • Account security codes (MFA) (security — not suppressible; sent whenever you log in with two-factor authentication)

Pickup invitation messages

When a parent or guardian adds you as an authorized pickup person for their child, MyKidRoute sends you a single SMS invitation explaining how to download the app and access your pickup QR code. This is a transactional message triggered by the parent's action, not a marketing message.

If you do not wish to receive this or any future messages from MyKidRoute, reply STOP to (978) 684-0361 and your number will be added to our suppression list. No further messages will be sent to your number from MyKidRoute, including from other parents who may add you in the future.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on your activity and your child's school schedule. You may receive up to 5 messages per day during active school days.

How to opt in

You can opt in to SMS notifications during account registration by checking the SMS consent checkbox after entering your phone number, or at any time via Account → Security → SMS Notifications.

How to opt out

To stop receiving SMS messages at any time:

  • Text STOP to (978) 684-0361
  • Go to Account → Security → SMS Notifications → toggle off
  • Email support@mykidroute.com with subject "Unsubscribe SMS"

After texting STOP, you will receive one confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent to your number — including school emergency safety alerts. If you opt out, your school's emergency alerts will be delivered via in-app push notification and email. Account security codes (MFA) are the only exception and will continue to be sent as a security measure.

To resume SMS messages after opting out, text START to (978) 684-0361 or re-enable SMS in your account settings.

Costs

MyKidRoute does not charge for SMS messages. However, message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Contact your carrier for details.

Consent not required

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing or using MyKidRoute services. All app features are available without SMS consent. Account security codes (MFA) are sent as a security measure and are neither subject to this opt-in nor suppressible by replying STOP — they are always delivered when you use two-factor authentication.

Data privacy — no marketing sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in consent to any third party for marketing purposes, ever. The only sharing that occurs is with our SMS delivery provider (Telnyx) that physically transmits SMS messages on our behalf, and only to the extent necessary to transmit those messages.

Supported carriers

AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, and most major US carriers.
